FringeNYC 2015 Shows With Stars
FringeNYC 2015 is packed with fresh talent worth discovering. But it also includes some well-established talent who are likely to deliver world-class work based on their previous accomplishments. The following are the best examples I'm aware of so far:
The Submarine Show consists of clownish duo Jaron Hollander, a former performer for the renowned Cirque Du Soleil, and Slater Penney, who won an Emmy Award in 2001 with Tech TV for his motion capture body performance work
The Report stars Michael Countryman, a wonderful actor whose Broadway credits include Wit, Mary Stuart, Night Must Fall, Holiday, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, and A Few Good Men; for my review of the play, please click here
Delaney Yeager, the youngest talent to ever become a staff writer on The Daily Show,
wrote and co-directed the comedy Waiting for AAA
Josh Grisetti. who starred in ABC's The Knights of Prosperity and on Broadway in It Shoulda Been You,
stars at FringeNYC in the musical comedy The Crack in the Ceiling
Maryedith Burrell is a comedy writer/producer/actress who's had recurring roles on Seinfeld, Parenthood, Home Improvement, Fridays, and more, and has been nominated for both Emmy and Golden Globe awards; she's performing a one-woman show about US healthcare titled #Ouch: An Accidental Comedy
Popesical: A Papal Musical Comedy boasts an impressive cast of Broadway performers: Stephen Christopher Anthony (Book of Mormon), Alexa Green (Wicked), Jason Veasey (Lion King), Lucas Thompson (Cats), Rachel Coloff (Urinetown), David Perlman (Baby, It's You!), and Susan Jacks (Forbidden Broadway)
